Lateral thinking

We were given tasks which required thinking outside the box. These were the tasks that we were given:

Remove 8 matches to leave just 2 squares, which should not touch.

Move 3 matches so that the pattern points down instead of up.

Your task is to join all nine dots using only four (or less) straight lines, without lifting your pencil from the paper and without retracing the lines.
We did these tasks to increase our lateral thinking.

  1. Initial research
A fair range of research and some effective annotations, but in the banners section you say that the “design is not good” – fine, but WHY. Justify your comment please.

    Xbox exercise.
You need to add your evaluation of the different techniques used to come up with and refine the ideas. (See document on Moodle)
    Presentation of X-box game design
    Where is this work?

    Lateral thinking quiz/activities
WHY DID WE DO THIS? Expand.

    Word association exercise.
Where is this work? (eg Hungry Horse)

    Represent your name
This was word/image association. Did thinking of an image to represent the meaning of your name help to spark off an idea?

    Catch Phrase Task
This was word/image association. How successful was the task?

    The Great Egg Drop
Generally good documentation. Where are the sketches? Was the group working process successful in helping to generate ideas? How would you refine the idea to make it more successful?
